After installation
Help your new palm take root.
A newly installed palm needs consistent moisture, time, and the right kind of nutrition. Follow this Florida establishment plan unless our crew gives you a more specific schedule for your species, soil, or season.
Install day
Start with a deep soak.
Slowly soak the entire root ball and make sure the surrounding soil drains without leaving standing water.
Days 1–21
Water daily.
Water the root ball each day unless it receives a soaking rain. Check moisture first during cool or wet weather.
Weeks 4–8
Move to every other day.
Continue slow, deep watering. Fast-draining sand and hot, windy conditions may require closer attention.
Months 3–8
Taper as roots establish.
Keep watering frequently during dry weather, then taper as the palm holds moisture and produces healthy new growth.
Fertilizer
Wait before feeding.
Unless we give you a different plan, wait about 3–4 months after installation. Use a controlled-release palm fertilizer labeled 8-2-12-4Mg or 8-0-12-4Mg with micronutrients. Keep it off the trunk and follow the label and local fertilizer rules.
Pruning & cold
Keep healthy fronds.
Remove only fully dead, brown fronds or a documented hazard. Do not remove healthy green fronds or hurricane-cut the palm. After a freeze, wait until the danger of more cold has passed before removing damaged foliage.
Text us promptly
Watch the center growth.
Text us a photo if the center spear pulls loose, the crown collapses, the root ball moves, water remains pooled, or new leaves rapidly yellow, crumple, spot, or fail to open normally.

You can still place your order. We'll call within 24 hours to confirm the route and schedule. If Sea Turtle Palms cannot serve the address, we'll cancel the order and issue a full refund to the original payment method before service begins.
Do you plant the trees too?
Yes. Free standard delivery and installation are included on qualifying orders of $1,099 or more. Additional charges may apply for difficult access, special equipment, removal work, oversized palms, or unusual site conditions.
Will the exact tree look like the photo?
The catalog photos show mature examples of each species. The palm you receive will match the height or trunk-size option you selected, not the mature size pictured. Because every living palm is unique, natural shape, fullness, and appearance vary from tree to tree.
Which palms are safest for North Florida cold?
Windmill, Pindo, European Fan, Florida Sabal, and Sylvester palms are common starting points. We still match the recommendation to your ZIP code, exposure, and microclimate.
Can you work around pools, fences, or tight access?
Often, yes. Send photos and gate measurements during order review. Large specimens may need special equipment or a revised placement plan.
